Dennis Taylor
Copywriter
For more than 25 years, Dennis has earned his keep “putting words in a row” professionally -- writing ad copy, publicity releases, broadcast scripts, brochures, rack cards, direct mail pieces and web sites. Dennis is knowledgeable on Keys lore, history and trivia, as he grew up spending weekends and summer vacations at family properties in the Keys. As an adult, he and his wife lived in Key West and the islands for more than a decade, where he used faxes, e-mails and commutes to the mainland to write for regional and national accounts.
As a beginning step for a project, Dennis likes to develop what he calls “theme lines.” These are features, benefits and central selling points of the client’s product, presented as strong headlines. Client feedback provides a short list from this presentation to create material for the entire campaign: sub-headlines, copy points and tag lines.
